Allen Lee McReynolds, age 69 of New Sharon passed away peacefully Monday morning, August 21, 2017 at the Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Serenity House. Allen Lee McReynolds, the son of Earl and Cleo (Waters) McReynolds, was born on September 18, 1947 in Prairie City, Iowa.

Allen attended Prairie City Schools.

He was married to Diane Moon at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Todd and Jill.

In 1966, Al was drafted in the United States Army, serving his country in Vietnam.

Following his honorable discharge in 1968, Al worked for Iowa Power/Mid American Energy in Mahaska County making many good friends while serving the community retiring in 2008.

Al enjoyed flying planes, riding motorcycles, working in the garage, traveling and spending time with his buddies. Al belonged to EAA Chapter 409 Flying Club at Oskgosh.

Al is survived by his son, Todd McReynolds; his daughter, Jill (& Shawn) Abernathy; two brothers, Marvin (& Marlene) McReynolds and Melvin (& Darlene) McReynolds; a sister, Betty (& Raymond) Williams; along with several nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Lonnie; a still born son; a brother, Loren Dale McReynolds; a sister, Zelda Ann McReynolds; and a sister-in-law, Linda McReynolds.

Memorial services will begin at 12:00 pm Saturday August 26, 2017 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am Saturday.
A Luncheon will follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Serenity.
