Ada Pearl Roovaart passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014. Ada Pearl Roovaart was born May 11, 1923 in Newburg, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Anna Lowry Paul.
Ada was a 1941 graduate of the Newburg high school. On February 2, 1946 she was united in marriage to Harold Inman. To this union two daughters were born, Aileen and Nancy. The couple lived in Kellogg, Grinnell and eventually settled in Montezuma.
Ada worked a short time at Sparks Cafe, the Ben Franklin Dime, and Union Merri Maids before excepting a position at Montezuma Manufacturing, where she later retired. After the death of her first husband, Harold, in 1988, Ada then married Harold Roovaart on July 22, 1989.
Ada was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and doing most anything with her family.
Ada is survived by two daughters: Aileen (& Jim) Sager of Montezuma and Nancy (& Harley) Rose of Oskaloosa; a step daughter, Linda Roovaart of Newton; and a brother, Francis Paul of Oregon. She was also blessed with five grandchildren: Jamie Sager, Tyler Sager, Esther Rose, Harley William (& Allison) Rose, Rosemary (& Chad) Lancaster; seven great grandchildren: Tristan, Mackenzie, Emma, Alyssa, Aiden, Axel, and Zola.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Harold Inman and Harold Roovaart; three brothers: James Paul, Lyle Paul, John Paul; and two sisters: Grace McDonald and Annette Barton.
Funeral services will begin at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Burial will be in the Jackson Township Cemetery at Montezuma.
Visitation will begin at noon on Monday with family present from 5:00 to 7:00. pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mahaska Hospice.
