Oskaloosa Wrestling Competes At Moravia In Triangular

Oskaloosa went 1-2 in a wrestling quad Monday night, beating Moravia but falling to Centerville and Wayne. The Indians had to shuffle their lineup as they were without the services of Junior Heavyweight Keegan Mitts-Butler, who suffered a neck injury in his championship match at the Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament on Saturday.
Oskaloosa defeated Moravia 42-15 in a dual that included several open weights for both teams. There were double forfeits at 113, 145, 170, and 195 pound weight classes. Oskaloosa received forfeit wins from Max Larkins at 126 lb. weight class, Emmit Bender at 182 lb., Warren Feudner at 220 lb. and Tyson Breuklander at Heavyweight. In contested matches, Leland Evans won by fall in 1:49 at 138 lb. class. Wyatt Krier at 152 lb. class and Cody Gunn at 160 lb. class also picked up wins by fall, with Krier pinning his opponent in 3:21, while Gunn barely worked up a sweat with a :21 second fall. In the 106 lb. class, Rylie Sirovy lost by fall in 2:51, Salvador Gonzales, in 120 lb. class, lost a 7-4 decision, and at 132 lb. class, Zack Beebe lost by fall in 2:10.
In a close dual, Oskaloosa fell to Wayne 40-34. There was a double forfeit in the 113 lb. weight class, and Oskaloosa forfeited at 152, 170, and 195 lb. classes. Meanwhile, Wayne did the same at 106, and 145 lb. classes, handing wins to Riley Sirovy and Wyatt Krier. Other victories for Oskaloosa included: Leland Evans at 138 lb. with a 1:03 fall, Emmit Boender by major decision 10-1 at 182 lb., Tyson Breuklander pinning his opponent in 3:58 at 220 lb., and Warren Feudner doing the same in 2:47 in the heavyweight class.
At 120 lb., Salvador Gonzales lost by major decision of 15-4, Max Larkins lost by fall in 1:43 at 126 lb., Zack Beebe also lost by fall in 4:49 at 132 lb., and Cody Gunn was pinned in 2:40 at 160 lb.
Centerville defeated Oskaloosa 42-25. Once again there were several open weight classes between the two teams, with double forfeits at 170 and 195 pound classes. Oskaloosa picked up a forfeit win in the 160 lb. weight class for Cody Gunn, but the Indians were open at 113 lb. and 152 lb. classes. Emmit Boender recorded a 6-0 decision win at 182 lb., Riley Sirovy, at 106 lb. class, pinned his opponent in 2:20, Leland Evans, at 138 lb. class, recorded another fall in 1:20, and Wyatt Krier, at 145 lb. class, won by major decision 10-2. Unfortunately, the Indians gave up several falls including: Warren Feudner, at 220 lb., in :22 seconds, Tyson Breuklander at heavyweight in 4:57, Salvador Gonzales, at 120 lb., in 1:40, Max Larkins, at 126 lb., in 1:03, and Zack Beebe, at 132, in :23 seconds.
Oskaloosa finishes the regular season at Pella Thursday night, then heads to the Class 3A District Tournament on Saturday, February 9th.
