Mildred Louise (Perry) Johnson, age 93, of Eddyville, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Northern Mahaska Specialty Care in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was born on December 31,1925 in Pershing, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Nellie Mae (Gott) Perry.
Mildred was raised in Eddyville and attended Eddyville High School. After high school, she worked at John Deere.
Mildred was united in marriage to Robert Johnson on November 10, 1946 in Eddyville. They were blessed with five children: Dennis, Marlene, Sharon, Karen, and Bradley.
Mildred enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. She later worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Mahaska County Hospital. She was a member of the Eddyville United Methodist Church and was a past President and a lifelong member of the Eddyville Historical Museum.
Those left to cherish Mildred’s memory include her children: Dennis (& Sue) Johnson of Newton, Marlene (& Bernie) Slings of Oskaloosa, Sharon (& Jim) Davis of Eddyville, and Bradley Johnson of Eddyville; and one sister, Linda (& Phil) Bonnett of rural Eddyville.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson; her daughter, Karen Johnson; her parents, Edward and Nellie Perry; and brothers: Don Perry, Marvin Perry, and James Perry.
Visitation for Mildred will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel, beginning at 11:00 A.M. Mildred’s family will be present to greet friends and relatives from 6:00 P.M. ~ 8:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Eddyville United Methodist Church.
Burial services will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Eddyville, following burial services.
Memorials may be given in Mildred’s memory to the Eddyville Historical Museum.
