Indians Struggle At Conference Tournament

Oskaloosa finished seventh in the Little Hawkeye Conference Wrestling Tournament. Norwalk walked away team champions with 235.5 team points, Indianola was second with 198, Newton 175, Grinnell 168, D-C-G 148, Pella 124, Oskaloosa 87
The Indians placed two wrestlers in the finals, both coming away with runner up finishes by Cody Gunn at 160 and Keegan Mitts-Butler at Heavyweight. Butler suffered an injury in the finals having to medically forfeit. Other top performers for Oskaloosa included Leland Evans at 138 and Wyatt Krier at 145, both finishing third. Oskaloosa returns to the mats Monday with the Junior Varsity traveling to D-C-G while the varsity heads to a triangular at Centerville with Centerville and Wayne. Thursday the Indians travel to Pella to close the regular season then begin preparations for the Class 3A District Tournament on Saturday, February 9th.
