Pamela Purdy, 60, of Oskaloosa, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. She was born September 17, 1958, in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Margaret Farr Purdy.

Pamela’s family was the center of her life. She took every opportunity she could to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed their many adventures outdoors of camping, hiking, and fishing. She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, cookies, and her cats.

Her family includes her children, Paula (& Michael) Beevers-Purdy of Alma, Michigan, Joshua Purdy of Turpin, Oklahoma, Mitchell Purdy of Ottumwa, and Rachel McKee of Oskaloosa; two grandchildren, Ayden Allen Purdy-McKee and Larke Dee Beevers-Purdy; and two sisters, Susie and Edith.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Vernon Clark, Sr.; and two brothers, Francis Purdy and Thomas Purdy.

Graveside funeral service and burial will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating.
Those wishing to attend the graveside service can meet at the Bates Funeral Chapel on Thursday afternoon by 1:30, at which time a procession will form to travel to Forest Cemetery. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
No visitation is planned.
