Harry Luzadder, 89, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, December 21, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born December 19, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of James and Amanda Schnake Luzadder.

Harry attended school in Chicago. In the late 1940’s his family moved to the Greenview area of Oskaloosa.

He was united in marriage to Jean Padgett in Oskaloosa. Jean later died in 1982.

Harry worked at the Brickyard in Oskaloosa for a few years. Later he worked for Clow Valve Company in Oskaloosa where he retired.

Harry enjoyed spending time watching the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Bulls. He loved his dogs and cats. He delighted in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His family includes his son, Harry L. (& Loretta) Luzadder of Oskaloosa; two daughters: Peggy Luzadder of Knoxville, and Cindy (& Mike) Williams of Oskaloosa; five grandchildren: Jean Luzadder, Harry Luzadder Jr., Kelli Luzadder, Michael J. Williams, and Amanda Williams; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew Bill Platt.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his parents; seven brothers: Charles Luzadder, Frank Luzadder, James Luzadder, Earnest Luzadder, George Luzadder, William Luzadder, and Harvey Luzadder; and three sisters: Loraine Chilcolte, Amanda Platt, and Florence Fisher.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Poe officiating.
Burial will be held in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will begin Wednesday after 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with the family present on Wednesday evening from 5-7 to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the family.
