PELLA — Two scoring grabs for wide reciver Erik Knaack (sophomore, Gladbrook, Gladbrook-Reinbck HS) and a punt block return touchdown for safety Jordy Borman (junior, Eagan, Minn.) landed the Central College football players on D3football.com’s team of the week Tuesday.

In the 20-year history of the award, Central is up to 43 recipients, the most of any school in the American Rivers Conference.

Knaack averaged 50.7 yards per catch as his three grabs went for 154 total yards. He scored from 40 and 41 yards out before adding a 71-yard catch and run on a screen pass. Both of his scoring efforts came in the first quarter of a 63-14 Central victory over Luther College.

With four minutes remaining in the second quarter, Borman blocked a Norse punt attempt and finished the job himself by scooping and scoring from the 25-yard line to put Central up 35-0. Borman was chosen for the team of the week recognition as a special teams player.

Central is now 3-0 (1-0 conference) and travels to play the University of Dubuque on Saturday at 1 p.m.
