by Todd Miller
The Oskaloosa Freshman went to Norwalk last Friday night and earned another win by beating the Warriors by a score of 47-13.
The young Indians came out ready to play football as they scored on the first possession on a 9-yard pass from Will Schultz to David Nelson. To make the score 7-0. Quickly the Defensive team made the Warriors punt as it was 4th and 29 on their first possession. The punt was fair caught on the 30-yard line and after a long pass play to Hunolt to get down to the 1-yard line the Indians were able to send Colin Snitker across the goal line to make the score 14-0.
The defense continued playing well and gave the ball right back to the Indians offensive unit. This offensive possession was highlighted by a nice pass to Genskow down to the 2-yard line and then Snitker was able to punch it into the end zone once again making the score 21-0. After a sack by Darryl Fane and a hard charging defensive line the Indians got the ball back by fielding another punt. The next offensive possession did not last long as Will Schultz scored on the first play on a nice 79-yard run to make the score 28-0 after Genskow was able to make his 11th extra-point in a row. After the defense made the Warriors punt on a 4th and 15 the return team did all the work this time as they took it to the house, on a 60-yard return by Schultz to make the score 34-0
The next defensive possession the Warriors were able to put a couple of big plays together as they scored a TD to make the score 34-7. The Indians were ready to return the favor on the next possession as they went 81 yards on a pass play from Nelson to Schultz to make the halftime score 41-7.
The second half started and both teams scored on their first possession making the score 47-13 and then that was all of the scoring for the game as the Indians’ defense finished the game playing tough.
