Linda Arterburn, 65, of Oskaloosa passed away Friday morning, August 24, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Linda Kay Arterburn, daughter of Roy Dwight and Evelyn Reatha (Visscher) Edel, was born February 21, 1953, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Growing up on a farm near Oskaloosa Linda was a member of the 4-H Club “Scott-U-Need-Us”; at the county fair she showed vegetables, flowers, and sewing projects.

Linda made her profession of faith at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church where she was active in the Young Peoples group and sang in the choir.

Linda was a 1971 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. While in high school she played the clarinet in the band, and was a member of F.F.A. Linda continued her education at William Penn University. She graduated with a double major in sociology and psychology and in 1979 she returned to earn a certificate in health care administration.

Linda worked for 30 years in the field of social work and as an administrator of intermediate health care facilities; she enjoyed her life’s work and was passionate about helping others.

Linda married Edward Garza and they adopted a daughter, Bernadette. They later divorced. She then married William Arterburn and to that union Bradley and Brianna were born. They later divorced. She later met Donald Denniston, who was her long-time companion.

Linda enjoyed listening to Rock & Roll oldies, attending collector car shows, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Her family includes her companion, Don Denniston; two daughters: Bernadette Garza of Chicago, IL and Brianna (& Steven) Porter of Corning, IA; a son, Bradley Arterburn of Anamosa; grandchildren: Olivia and Lucas Porter and a soon to be born grandson; her companion’s children and their spouses: Scott (& Kathy) Denniston of Phoenix, AZ, DeAnna (& Justin) Bowen of Fort Worth, TX, Donald Denniston II of Ottumwa, and Frances Denniston of Ottumwa; and his grandchildren: Sierra Yeoman, Zachary, Devon, Aaron, Hannah and Erica Conder, and Colton Denniston; Linda’s brother and sister-in-law, Ervin and Marilyn Edel of Oskaloosa; sister and brother-in-law, Leona and John Van Donselaar of New Sharon; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Dustin Yeoman.

Funeral service for Linda will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Meyer of Grace Church in Des Moines officiating.
The family will greet visitors from 9:30 to service time on Wednesday morning.
Burial will be in Old White Cemetery. Langkamp Funeral Chapel & Crematory is handling the arrangements.
