Ready Set Garden to be held April 10
Our local community gardens have a gardening space for you! Come meet our local community garden coordinators and fellow gardeners Tuesday April 10 at 7 pm. The community garden kick off will be at the Mahaska County Extension Office, 212 North I Street, Oskaloosa.
You can sign up for a plot, meet Master Gardener mentors, and hear community gardeners tell about experiences gardening at the community garden as well as growing their favorite garden crop at the sites.
The coordinators of the sites will be in attendance. They are: Hope Gardens (New Hope)- Blaine Vos 641-676-1601 oskyhope@gmail.com; OCSD Glendale- Ron Van Heuvelen 641-660-4329 rveuvelen@gmail.com; William Penn- Marsha Riordan 641-673-1044 riordanm@wmpenn.edu and OCSD FFA Learning Garden- Alice Bowling 641-673-3407 bowlinga@oskycsd.org. Hope Gardens, Glendale and William Penn have garden plots available for 2018. The OCSD FFA Learning garden grows produce that is donated to the Ecumenical cupboard.
The Ecumenical Cupboard will discuss their acceptance of local produce donations.
