Dine, Kriegel named to all-conference basketball squad

PELLA— Central College seniors Emily Dine (Oldsmar, Fla., East Lake HS) and Jackie Kriegel (Marengo, Iowa Valley HS) were named to the all-Iowa Conference women’s basketball second team Wednesday morning.

Dine ended the season averaging 13.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in league play. She is also the school’s all-time leader in 3-pointers with 11 in a game, 82 in a season (twice) and 225 in her career. Dine earned honorable mention recognition as a junior and earned league player of the week honors December 31.

Kriegel led the conference in rebounding, grabbing 12.7 boards a game in conference play. She averaged 9.7 points and tied the program record with 22 rebounds in a game against Dubuque December 2. Kriegel had 10 statistical double-doubles this season and had 12 over her career.

The Dutch finished the year with a 7-18 record and a 2-14 mark in conference play.
