The Oskaloosa Indians Win Another Dual Swim Meet

The Indians drove to Williamsburg to take on the Raiders and the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings on Tuesday night and they came away with a sweep. The Indians defeated Vinton-Shellsburg by a score of 87-75 and defeated Williamsburg by a score of 95-58 to make it the second double dual meet in a row to leave with a couple of wins.
Once the teams were warmed up and ready to go the Indians sent the team of Owen Gordon, Jarod Miller, Carson Breon, and Jack Miller to the blocks for the 200 Medley Relay. They came away with a time of 1:53.57 to take the 1st place position.

Next up was the 200 Free event and Colin Fiechtner and Carson Abrahamson went up to see what they could do. Colin came away with a 2:08.17 for a 2nd place finish and Carson earned a 2:27.34 for a 4th place finish.

In the 200 IM event Jack Dawson took first place honors by swimming a 2:21.58 and Owen Gordon took 2nd place by swimming a 2:24.14 for the Indians
In the 50 Free Oskaloosa sent Jarod Miller who finished in a time of 25.17 for a 1st place finish, Nicholas Koenig who finished in a time of 34.08 for a 5th place finish, and Anthony Chavez who finished in a time of 38.93.

After a short break the teams came back and it was time of the 100 Fly as Jack Miller went to the blocks and came away with a 59.71 to earn a 1st place finish for the Indians
In the 100 Free event Jack Dawson went to the blocks and came away with a time of 56.21 for a 2nd place finish and was followed by Nic Koenig who swam a 1:22.47 and Anthony Chavez who swam a 1:33.01.

In the long 500 Free Carson Breon went to the blocks and came away with a time of 5:39.63 for another 1st place finish for the Indians.
In the 200 Free Relay, Oskaloosa sent the team of Owen Gordon, Colin Fiechtner, Carson Abrahamson, and Jack Dawson to compete and they swam a time of 1:44.38 to earn a 1st place finish.
After the second intermission Jack Miller and Colin Fiechtner went to the blocks to swim the 100 Back Event. Jack finished in a time of 1:01.86 for a first place finish and Colin earned the 2nd place finish in a time of 1:08.24.

Next up was the 100 Breast event and Jarod Miller and Carson Abrahamson swam the event for the Indians. Jarod finished in a time of 1:12.03 for a 1st place finish and Carson finished in 1:19.60 for a 3rd place finish.

In the final event of the night, 400 Free Relay, the Indians sent 2 teams to compete. The first team of Carson Breon, Owen Gordon, Jack Dawson and Jack Miller earned a 1st place finish in a time of 3:49.29 and the team of Colin Fiechtner, Nic Koenig, Carson Abrahamson, and Jarod Miller finished in 3rd place in a time of 4:38.75.

The Indians have done a great job competing this season and have now completed their December meets. After Christmas Break they will start on Saturday, January 6th in Johnston.
