7th Grade Girls Roll Over Knoxville

The Oskaloosa 7th grade girls basketball team played at Knoxville on Thursday night. The A team won 33-22 and evened their record at 3-3. The Indians started slowly in their first game since Thanksgiving break struggling to make open shots and lay-ups but with good defense were able to build a 10-6 halftime lead. The Indians continue to play hard man to man defense, while improving their rebounding and their offensive execution.

The B team was in a defensive battle through 3 quarters before Knoxville was able to get some easy baskets on inbounds plays and put Oskaloosa away. Oskaloosa fell 6-13. The C game was only a half because of low numbers but the Indians came away with a 4-2 win thanks to a jumper from Raelynne Callen with 5 seconds left in the game. All the players continue to be unselfish and play with great effort.

A team scoring: Maleah Walker 14, Lucy Roach 11, Maddy Moorman 4, Presley Blommers 2, Audree Cheney 2
B team scoring: Kaia Cook 2, Audree Cheney 2, Maddy Moorman 2
C team scoring: Dani Miller 2, Raelynne Callen 2
