BLOOMINGTON, ILL. — Entering its final weekend of the season, the Central College volleyball team dropped matches against Lincoln Christian University (Ill.) and Wisconsin Lutheran College Friday night.

Central fell 25-22, 25-21, 25-23 to Lincoln Christian in the opening match of the five-team Illinois Wesleyan tournament. The Dutch battled for five sets against Wisconsin Lutheran but fell 25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-11 in the nightcap.

“I felt like we started very slow and lacked any real sense of urgency in the first match,” said coach Jeanne Czipri. “Things started to come alive a bit versus Wisconsin Lutheran, especially with our serving. I felt our seniors were especially aggressive offensively tonight but our ball control limited our ability to win either match. Hopefully we can find that purpose and intent tomorrow to finish the season on a high note.”

Tournament play continues Saturday for the Dutch with matches against Westminster University (Mo.) at noon and host Illinois Wesleyan following at 2 p.m.
