Grinnell men’s XC team picked to defend MWC title

GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College men’s cross country team has been picked by the league coaches to win their sixth consecutive Midwest Conference (MWC) title.

The Pioneers earned five first-place votes to earn 77 points, narrowly edging out Cornell College, who also had five first-place tallies and finished with 76 points. Monmouth College finished was picked third in the poll after garnering 58 points, while Lake Forest College and Lawrence University tied for fourth place with 56.

St. Norbert College took sixth place with 42 points and was followed by Beloit College with 34. Ripon College (21), Knox College (20) and Illinois College (10) complete the poll.

The season starts on Friday, September 1, with the MWC Championship held at Illinois College on Saturday, October 28.
