10th Annual Day of Caring
Wednesday, September 20, 2017 – 8a – 5p
Oskaloosa and Mahaska County: This year marks the 10th annual Day of Caring event in Oskaloosa. Each year on Day of Caring, United Way teams up with volunteers from businesses and organizations to complete service projects in the Oskaloosa community. In years past, volunteers have cleaned up our parks, helped out at local nonprofits, and helped community members fix up their homes.
A past business volunteer of Day of Caring said: “Working alongside people that I normally just have meetings with. It was nice to see different sides of people”; a past volunteer of Day of Caring said: “Knowing that what we did made a difference in someone else’s life.”; current Community Impact Coordinator: “I am elated at the opportunity to organize a group of energetic volunteers to help make Oskaloosa and Mahaska County a better place.”
Day of Caring is still looking for Volunteer Teams, Projects in Mahaska County, and Sponsors. If you have an interest in joining us for Day of Caring please call 641.673.6043 or email uwmc.coordinator@gmail.com
