EBFHS Concert Band places 1st at Worlds of Fun Contest

Eddyville Blakesburg Fremont Concert Band competed in the Worlds of Fun Festival of Music in Kansas City, Missouri.

On Sunday May 7th, The Eddyville Blakesburg Fremont Concert Band competed in the Worlds of Fun Festival of Music in Kansas City, Missouri. The EBFHS Band placed 1st in class 2A competition. The band also earned a Division I rating for the 2nd time in EBF Band history at this prestigious contest. There are 82 students in the concert band this year and they are directed by Joe Overton. Bands from 7 different states compete in this festival. The judges are nationally renowned college band directors and composers. This year, the band had the privilege of performing for Dr. Timothy Rhea from Texas A & M University, Composer and Educator Dr. Johnnie Vinson from Auburn University and Dennis Zeisler from Old Dominion University. This is the 5th time that the EBFHS Concert Band has placed 1st at this competition.
