Grinnell’s Chloe Briney named to Academic All-District Team

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College swimmer Chloe Briney ’17 has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America ™ (CoSIDA) Women’s Academic All-District At-Large Team.

The At-Large category includes 16 sports, including Grinnell’s offerings of men’s and women’s swimming and diving, golf and tennis.

Briney, from Denver, Colo. (George Washington), is an 11-time Midwest Conference champion, including titles in 2017 in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays and 200 and 400 medley relays.

She won the 400 freestyle relay in 2016, and also won four events in 2015 with the 50 freestyle, 200 and 400 freestyle relays and 200 medley relay. In 2014, she was first in the 400 and 800 freestyle relays.

Additionally, Briney is a four-time Academic All-Conference selection.

The All-District squads are chosen by members of CoSIDA. By being named Academic All-District, Briney advances to the Academic All-America ballot.
