Statesmen Remain in Top 25

William Penn University Athletics

Oskaloosa–The William Penn women’s golf team had a couple of solid results recently, but did not do as much as it needed to hold its national position as the NAIA’s fifth top-25 poll was released Friday.

The Statesmen fell two spots to #25 with 123 points. The squad, which remains the lone representative from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the ranking, will look to impress the raters next week when it competes at the Oklahoma City Classic Monday and Tuesday.

Keiser (Fla.) has taken over the top spot with 498 points and 18 first-place votes. Former #1 SCAD Savannah (Ga.) is now second, while Oklahoma City (last first-place vote), Embry-Riddle (Ariz.), and Dalton State (Ga.) round out the top five.
