Entrepreneurial Attorney to Share Story of Bringing Her ‘Vision’ to Life

(OSKALOOSA, Iowa) – Adrienne Haynes will present “Redefining the Status Quo” on Tuesday, April 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the Musco Technology Center on William Penn University’s Oskaloosa campus. As an entrepreneurial attorney, Haynes encourages practical innovation through her law firm and consulting work. From working in a small town ice cream shop to now owning several businesses, Haynes will present how she brought her vision to life and how she helps others to do the same.
“I think it is important to remember that the university should be a site of a variety of ideas both to learn from and to challenge our own ideas. This series has done a good job in bringing in a diverse group of voices, speaking on different topics, and giving us new perspectives,” said Dr. Noel Stahle, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty.
Haynes is a businesswoman and attorney who specializes in helping entrepreneurs and businesses develop sustainable infrastructure and create wealth. She studied entrepreneurship and spanish at Buena Vista University and graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law with an emphasis in entrepreneurial law. Haynes is also the managing partner of SEED Law, a business law firm and owner of SEED Collective, a consultancy. Through her consultancy, she provides business coaching and management of small business programs, including leadership of the Midwest Women’s Business Enterprise Council and business coaching through ScaleUP!KC. She joined MWBEC after three years designing and building the Blue Hills Contractor Incubator, the nation’s only construction specific incubator program.
Haynes also prioritizes community service through her leadership of Black Female Attorneys and the Multicultural Business Coalition. She is a proud board member of Girls to Queens and the Buena Vista University National Alumni Association Board of Directors, a participant in the Kansas City Ed Innovation Taskforce, and a member of local bar associations.
The Leaders Speak Series is an annual initiative that reaches out to the community with diverse leadership-based themes. This is the last guest speaker in the 2016–17 series that has expanded on the theme: “Regenerate: Planting Ideas for Generations.” The theme focuses on motivating students and community members to become more active and be a part of the changes they want to see, whether that is in their own lives or in the community.
