Henry Daggett, 77, of Brooklyn, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Brooklyn Community Estates in Brooklyn. He was born Thursday, March 14, 1940, in Grundy Center, the son of Harlan and Edwyna Daggett.

Henry graduated from Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs in 1960.

Following school, Henry worked for several years doing upholstery work in the Des Moines area. He also enjoyed doing handyman work.

Henry enjoyed attending CedarLoo deaf/mute club and the deaf Lutheran church in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo.

On September 6, 1980, Henry was united in marriage to Rebecca Zimmerman at the Lutheran church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife: Rebecca of Brooklyn; two sons: John Williams of Montezuma and Jimmy Stevens of Newton; five daughters: Betsy (& Tim) Richards of Blakesburg, Nancy (& Clark) Jones of Ocala, Florida, Ruthy Stevens of Ottumwa, Diana Heathcote of Montezuma and Carol Miller; 21 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three brothers: Harlan Daggett, Bill Daggett and Jim Daggett; and a sister: Betty Puntz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harlan Daggett.

As was his wish, Henry’s body has been cremated.
No services are planned at this time. Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
