Cunningham, Letzring Named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

Oskaloosa–Statesmen cagers T.J. Cunningham (Jr., Lynnville, Iowa, Physical Education) and Titus Letzring (Sr., Alta, Iowa, Digital Communication) were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2016-2017 Daktronics-NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athletes Monday.

Cunningham had a 3.58 Grade Point Average entering this spring, while Letzring owned a 3.74 GPA. They were among a list of 62 Division I men’s basketball players from within the NAIA to be awarded the laurel. The honor is the second for Letzring and the first for Cunningham.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
