Pamela Kae “Honey” Steel, 70, of Eddyville, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at her home. Pam was born August 11, 1946 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of John Robert and Mary L. (Bloodsworth) Simmers.

Pam lived in Eddyville all her life and graduated from Eddyville High School, Class of 1964. After high school Pam attended and graduated from the Iowa School of Beauty in 1965.

Pam and her companion, Paul Kauzlarich lived together for 32 years. He died April 10, 2011.

Pam enjoyed being with her family, taking care of others, cooking and baking, and spending time with her cousin Barb Allgood. Pam also enjoyed fishing with Paul, watching the hummingbirds, and going to the casinos.

Pam is survived by her daughter, Heather (& Tim) Elswick; three grandchildren, Sierra, Tristan, and Dylan; and one great-grandson, Aiden. Pam is also survived by her brother John Simmers; her step daughter Liz Chambers and family; and several nieces and nephews.

Pam is preceded in death by her parents; her companion, Paul Kauzlarich; one sister, Lou Knoot; and one brother-in-law, Glenn Knoot.

Pam’s wishes were to be cremated and there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family.
The Eddyville Funeral Chapel is assisting Pam’s family with services.
