Chocolate & Jazz coming to Penn Central Mall

Chocolate and all that Jazz

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Imagine getting the opportunity to take your sweetheart to Paris this Valentines Day! The chances aren’t that far fetched, as a Paris-themed ‘Chocolate & All That Jazz’ – first of its kind – event is coming to the center court of Penn Central Mall on Friday evening, February 17th.

Organizers will build a 16′ replica of the famed Eiffel tower in the middle of the court, complete with spectacular lighting. Oskaloosa’s finest Jazz musicians will perform from 7-9pm, while 8 different chocolate ‘stations’ will be set up throughout, along with a toppings station. “This event is different from the traditional jazz concert, in that it’s come & go – plus you get to mill around and enjoy the treats, while visiting with your friends.” said Joe Milledge, one of the organizers of the event.

The event is a fund raiser for Oskaloosa High School Jazz; tickets are only $8 per person for adults and $4 for K-12 and are available at the Spirit Store, Hunters, and Brown Shoe. Several local businesses are also supporting this festive evening, including Bates Funeral Home, Legacy Real Estate, Hy-Vee, Oskaloosa News, Thunder Country KIIC, Mahaska Health Partnership, and Wendell Campbell State Farm. “People are always looking for local events to take the entire family to – and this is one of them! What could be better than chocolate treats and jazz treats from some fine musicians?” Milledge added.
