Tsuha Nets Fourth Conference Honor
GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College swimmer Beth Tsuha has been named the Midwest Conference (MWC) Performer of the Week for the fourth time this winter.
Tsuha enjoyed a successful weekend while leading the Pioneers to runner-up honors at their own Grinnell Invitational. Tsuha tasted victory in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.91) and also with the 800-yard freestyle relay team (8:14.80). Tsuha was also second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:31.85) and 400-yard medley relay (4:09.22) and was on the third-place 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:45.11). Grinnell finished only behind NCAA Division I University of Nebraska-Omaha in the team standings.
Notable Performances
Hannah Marks was part of two fourth-place relays for Illinois College on Saturday at the Panther Invitational hosted by Principia College. All three teams to finish ahead of the Lady Blues in those races do not compete at the Division III level. In her two individual events, Marks was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.60), less than a second behind a Division II swimmer, and third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:42.28) behind a pair of Division II swimmers.
