Addison, Ill.–Bailey Palmer (Fr., Ottumwa, Iowa, Undecided) was in contention to win the individual crown and her efforts guided the Statesmen women’s bowling team to a top-20 effort at the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic Saturday and Sunday.

WPU placed 16th out of 54 teams in the Tier 1 event with 8,048 pins in five regular games and 20 Baker games. Wichita State (Kan.) won the team race with 8,778 pins.

Nicole Craft (Fr., Wakefield, Neb., Physical Education) was next for WPU with an average of 179.3 in four games.

The quartet of Briell Newberry (Jr., Holland, Mich., Elementary Education) (183.0), MacKenzie Boyd (Sr., Knoxville, Iowa, Psychology and Human Services) (174.7), Amber Ovel (So., Waterloo, Iowa, Business Management) (166.3), and Audra Farley (Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Education) (162.7) all started three games apiece.
