The Oskaloosa girls basketball team arguably played their best game of the season in a 55-47 loss to #4 ranked Grinnell on Tuesday night. Oskaloosa was able to hang in, with the Tigers trailing 19-13 after the 1st quarter. If it wasn’t for senior Kyra Hungerford scoring 17 points for the Tigers in the 1st half, Oskaloosa could have been much closer at the half than 39-20. Alexis Westercamp had a fantastic game for Oskaloosa, scoring 21 points and eclipsing the 1,000 point mark for her career. The Tigers cooled off from their 1st half’s shooting and Oskaloosa hung right with them, only losing the quarter by 2 points and trailing 51-30 after 3 quarters. The Tigers cold shooting continued in the 4th quarter and Oskaloosa cut the lead to 8 points at one point in the quarter.
