Statesmen Receiving Votes at #32

Oskaloosa–The William Penn women’s basketball squad continues to be a factor in the national rankings as the third NAIA Division I top-25 poll was released Tuesday.

The Statesmen (10-6, 8-4 Heart), who dropped two positions to #32 with eight points, are one of five programs from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the rating. There is a logjam of league teams in the middle of the top 25 with Baker topping the list at #10. Central Methodist is 13th, while Benedictine is 15th and MidAmerica Nazarene is 16th.

Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) stays at #1 with 250 points and nine first-place votes. Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) is a close second with the final first-place nod, while Westmont (Calif.), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), and Vanguard (Calif.) wrap up the top five.

William Penn travels to Cedar Rapids Wednesday to face Mount Mercy in Heart action at 5:30 p.m.
