No movement for Dutch in wrestling rankings

PELLA — The Central College wrestling team remained entrenched in the No. 10 spot in the fifth edition of the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III poll.

Individually, C.J. Pestano (junior, Torrance, Calif.), Cam Timok (sophomore, Glen Allen, Va./Hermitage HS) and Ryan Vandall (senior, Phoenix, Ariz., Moon Valley HS) are ranked in the top-10 at their respective weight classes.

The No. 4 wrestler at 125 pounds, Pestano is 17-3 on the season and has earned tournament titles at the Super 8 Invitational hosted by Wis.-Platteville and the Central Under Armour Invitational.

Timok, ranked No. 9 at 133 pounds, has raced out to a 16-1 record to start the season. His only loss came against a Division II wrestler and he has tournament titles at the Super 8 Invitational, Central Under Armour Invitational and the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational.

Central’s top-rated wrestler as the No. 2 at 165 pounds, Vandall is 19-2 on the year. He also has tournament titles at the Super 8 Invitational, Central Under Armour Invitational and the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational.

The Dutch will look to move to 3-0 in Iowa Conference action with a dual at Loras College tonight at 7 p.m.
