Eunice Toll, 91, of University Park, died Monday, January 9, 2017, at the Oskaloosa Care Center in Oskaloosa. She was born December 26, 1925, in Barnes City, Iowa, the daughter of Elbert and Caroline Slay Hoit.

Eunice graduated from Eddyville High School with the class of 1944. She continued her schooling at the Ottumwa Beauty Academy in Ottumwa, graduating from there in 1945. Following school she moved to Oskaloosa and started her career as a beautician.

On July 16, 1956, she was united in marriage to Alfred “Ace” Toll in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa.

Eunice operated a beauty salon out of her home in University Park for over fifty years. She retired in the mid 1990’s.

Eunice was an active charter member of the Calvary Bible Church in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, visiting with friends and spending time with her family. She and Ace were great supporters of Oskaloosa Activities, they especially enjoyed watching when their grandchildren were participating.

Her family includes her husband of over 60 years, Ace Toll of Oskaloosa; two daughters: Pam Bixler and Patti (& Mikee) Hernandez, all of Oskaloosa; two grandchildren: Kyle (& Kaitlin) Williams and Cally (& Josh) Sytsma, all of Oskaloosa; a great grandson, Lane Sytsma; two sisters in law: Wilma Evans of Iowa City and Norma (& Daryl) Walker of Bondurant; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Leona Whitis and Helen Swim.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. in the Calvary Bible Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Dr. Douglas Smiley officiating.
Burial will be in the Bluff Creek Cemetery southwest of Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Wednesday after 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Wednesday evening to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Bible Church in Oskaloosa.
