Oskaloosa Middle School Grapplers Electrify In Area Competition
The Oskaloosa Middle School matmen were back in action after the long winter break. On Thusday January 5th, Oskaloosa played host to some of the best competition of the year with solid programs from Eddyville-Blakesburg, Newton, Centerville, Knoxville, and Prairie City-Monroe battling for mat supremacy. The Oskaloosa wrestlers were challenged by their coaches to get 29 wins on the night, one for each member of the Osky MS wrestling team. The team responded with an incredible performance that far exceeded all expectations! The Oskaloosa grapplers jumped out to a quick start winning their first three matches, and then continued to electrify the crowd throughout the night, creating a truly intense and entertaining atmosphere. When the dust had settled Oskaloosa tallied 38 wins, 32 of which were pins and an additional 5 forfeits, totaling 43 wins on the night. The team thanks all that came out and supported them. The Oskaloosa Middle School wrestlers are back in action next week January 10th at Grinnell, and again on January 13th in Moravia.
