Duerfeldt headlines Central baseball event
PELLA — Adam Duerfeldt ‘06, a two-time Academic All-American baseball player, is the keynote speaker for the Central College baseball team’s First Pitch Dinner on Sunday, February 19.
Duerfeldt graduated from Central in 2006 with a B.S. in chemistry before receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas in 2011. He currently serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma.
As a player for the Dutch, Duerfeldt was a two-time all-Iowa Conference performer and the league’s 2006 Most Valuable Player.
The First Pitch Dinner will take place in the Graham Conference Center banquet hall on Central’s campus and runs from 5:30 p.m. until approximately 9 p.m. A social hour and silent auction runs from 5:30 to 6:30 before dinner at 6:30. A program including a preview of the 2017 season will begin at 7:30.
Cost of attendance is $25 for adults, $15 for children age 6-12 and free for children age 5 and under.
