8th Grade Girls Looking For First Win

Last night the 8th grade girls took the court against a very impressive Norwalk team. Norwalk was coming into this game after beating a very good Pella team with ease. Last night we had more open looks than ever before and our rebounding was outstanding. However, we came up short in both the A game and the B game by scores of 31-12 and 19-16.

The A game was within single digits for the majority of the game until the 4 quarter where we got into foul trouble and sent their ladies to the charity strike. Norwalk was nearly perfect from the foul line while the Indians made only a single free throw. If our girls continue to play great man to man defense, hit the glass, and get quality looks on offense, they will begin to see more marks on the win column.

The B game was the most exciting game of the year thus far. The girls had a lead for nearly the entire game until the 4th quarter where we let it slip away. Turning the ball over and not rebounding really hurt our girls chances of winning the second game. This group of girls have by far shown the most improvement and willingness to get better. Being in competitive games is always exciting.

Sadly, our managers had a rough time keeping statistics and we do not have anything for individual performances. Tomorrow the girls have an away game against Newton where they look to seal their first victory of the year. Go Indians!
