Carrie Zugg, 31, of Leighton, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 in Pella. She was born Sunday, January 13, 1985, in Des Moines, the daughter of William and Bridget Johnson Zugg.

Carrie graduated from Sigourney High School with the Class of 2003. During high school, she worked at Pizza Ranch in Sigourney. Carrie went to work at Walmart in 2004. She worked in several area stores and lastly in the Pella Walmart.

Carrie enjoyed reading, Facebook, loved playing with her son Hunter and playing games.

Carrie is survived by her father, William Zugg of Marshalltown; her son, Hunter Joseph Hampton; her longtime companion, Dustin Hampton of Leighton; two brothers: Benjamin (& Meghan) Zugg of Omaha, Nebraska and John Zugg of Lone Tree, Iowa; Dustin’s parents: Connie (& Mike) Cochran of Leighton; Hunter’s half-sister, Kathleena Hampton; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bridget Zugg; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A private family funeral service will be held at a later date.
The date for visitation is pending at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa.
As was her wish, Carrie’s body will be cremated following the visitation.
Burial of her cremated remains will be in Sixteen Cemetery near Thornburg at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Hunter Hampton, Carrie’s son.
