PELLA—After knocking down a program record eight 3-pointers in a game last week, junior guard Emily Dine (Tampa, Fla., East Lake HS) of the Central College women’s basketball team has been named the Iowa Conference female athlete of the week.

She was also recognized as the league’s women’s basketball player of the week.

On the road at Iowa Wesleyan University on Tuesday night, Dine went 8-for-12 from the beyond the arc to lead Dutch with 26 points in a 66-50 victory for Central. She added 11 more points on a trio of 3-pointers against Fontbonne University (Mo.) on Saturday.

It’s the second time Dine has been named the league player of the week, previously being cited in January of 2016.

Central opens the conference season on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at Coe College.
