Marilyn Feaster, 67, of Oskaloosa passed away Thursday morning, November 17, 2016, at her home near Oskaloosa. Marilyn Ilene Feaster, daughter of Clarence Roscoe and Mabel Margaret (Wolf) Allen, was born March 31, 1949, in Keota, Iowa.

Marilyn was raised on a farm near Keota and attended Keota Schools. As a teenager, she and her brother dug graves to help her family. She later went to work at Kingsbury Homes in Sigourney, IA.

Marilyn married Marvin Lee Feaster, July 13, 1969. They lived in several towns in central Iowa due to her husband’s construction job. In 1988 they moved to Oskaloosa.

Marilyn enjoyed BINGO at the Elks and the VFW, she loved attending the races at the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds and also an occasional trip to Mesquaki Casino in Tama.

Her family includes her two sons: Steven (& Jennifer) Allen and Shannon Feaster; and a “daughter,” Becky Koontz, all of Oskaloosa; three grandchildren: Morgan Allen, Bailey Stier and Jayden Stier; a brother, Dean Allen of Oskaloosa; and a sister, Betty Crow of Tipton, IA.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on April 31, 2014; and a brother, Donnie Allen.

As was her wish, Marilyn’s body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
