Oskaloosa will be taking part in the Iowa All State Music Festival held in Ames, Iowa.

On October 22nd, students from the Oskaloosa High School auditioned for the 2016 Iowa All State Choir, Band, and Orchestra. We are proud to announce that John Hammes was selected into the Orchestra on trumpet. This is John’s 4th year making it into an All State Ensemble and is a huge accomplishment. Kinsey Cook was selected into the All State Band on french horn. On the choir side of things, Rhyienne Fowler was selected into the Iowa All State Chorus as a soprano 1. Nicholas Ingamells was selected into the Chorus as a baritone. Nicholas is a freshman this year. Over to Orchestra, Ellie Snyder was selected as 1st alternate in the Iowa All State Orchestra on violin.

Being chosen to perform in one of these groups is the highest honor that a musician can receive at the high school level. Oskaloosa is very fortunate to consistently have strong music programs in all 3 areas. Keep an eye for announcements regarding music performances throughout the year. You do not want to miss the amazing music that all 3 of our high school programs make.
