GRINNELL’S YAN IS MWC MEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Houfu Yan ’20, from Sunnyvale, Calif. (Homestead), has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.
Yan got his collegiate career off to a perfect start Saturday, winning four events while leading the Pioneers to a 198-86 victory over Luther College. He claimed wins in the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes in 53.11 seconds and 1:57.50, respectively, while also taking top honors in the 100 butterfly in 53.15.
Additionally, he swam on the first-place 200 medley relay team that finished in 1:38.79.
Grinnell swept the weekly MWC swimming and diving awards, as Beth Tsuha ’17 was named the Women’s Performer of the Week.
