Michael Brown, 68, of New Sharon passed away Tuesday evening, November 8, 2016 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Michael Beck Brown, the son of William Philo and Mabel (Beck) Brown, was born on December 18, 1947 in Grinnell, Iowa.

Michael was a 1966 graduate of Montezuma High School. Michael enlisted with the United States Air Force in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He was married to Larene Earhart; they later divorced.

On November 19th 1987, he was married to Connie Bru at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Michael worked for Miracle Recreation in Grinnell before working for Montezuma Manufacturing for 25 years as a supervisor and then in the IT department. Before retiring in 2013, he worked at B3 Computers then Thiesens in Grinnell.

Michael enjoyed going to car shows, air shows, working on cars and golfing. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching his favorite driver Rusty Wallace. He also enjoyed flying his ultralight and going four wheel trail riding in Wisconsin on yearly vacations. He was a member of the Prairie Knolls Country Club and a Corvette Club in Indianola.

His memory will honored by his wife, Connie Brown of New Sharon; three children: Janis (& Dudley) Carlton of Newhall, Iowa, Farah (& Shannon) Ingle of Bondurant and Chad (& Charity) Bru of Beacon; five grandchildren: Michael Dunnick, Austin Ingle, Adam Ingle, Henry Bru and Heston Bru; five siblings: Bob (& Valeta) Brown of Monett, Missouri, Joyce Waller-Diemont, Dave (& Dori) Brown of Grinnell, Jim (& Faye) Brown of Colfax and Kevin Brown of Bellbrook, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Burial with military honors will be held in the Barnes City Cemetery in Barnes City.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the funeral home with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the family’s name. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
