Carol Grubb, 60, of Montezuma, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born Sunday, October 9, 1955, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Wendell Hook and Carolyn Mitchell.

On April 7, 1973, Carol was united in marriage to David Grubb in Montezuma, they later divorced.

Carol worked for a time at the Grinnell Herald Register.

She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and talking on the CB radio. She also loved her pets, especially her dog Rusty.

Her family includes her son, Kurtis (& Cindy) Grubb of Oskaloosa; two daughters: Angela (& J.J.) Howrey of Fremont and Michelle (& Kerry) Sytsma of Montezuma; seven grandchildren: Owen and Karter Grubb, Preston, Kolton and Dalton Howrey and Hayden and September Sytsma; and a brother, Lee Briggs (& Kathy).

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepdad, Wavern Briggs; and a sister, Beth Jones.

As was her wish, Carol’s body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
