Oskaloosa, Iowa – July 28 – William Penn University will once again participate in Iowa Private College Week August 1 through 5. Sponsored by the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, Iowa Private College Week is designed for prospective students and their families to participate in coordinated visits at any of the 29 private colleges in Iowa. The annual event, now in its 18th year, offers campus tours and informational meetings specifically designed to assist students in evaluating their needs and goals for their higher education experience.

During Iowa Private College Week, visitors will learn more about the university’s academic programs, financial aid opportunities and extra-curricular activities. Penn faculty, staff and students will also be available to meet with prospective students and their families.

Kerra Strong, Vice President for Enrollment Management at William Penn, said Iowa Private College Week is a great opportunity for prospective students just beginning their search to find out what colleges in Iowa have to offer. With recent additions of campus facilities, and new programs, Strong believes William Penn’s offerings are unique.

William Penn has a diverse population with students from across the nation and the world, which creates a multi-cultural environment on campus. Class sizes are small, and students receive personal attention and can develop close relationships with their professors. The university also offers many scholarship opportunities and generous financial aid packages.

Iowa’s private colleges and universities are a diverse collective of 29 independent institutions that offer students the choice of enriching, individualized educational experiences, both academically and socially. Located in cities and towns that span the state, Iowa’s private colleges educate more than 50,000 people annually. Combined, they offer 148 undergraduate degree programs and an expansive selection of co-curricular activities and work-study/internship opportunities.
