GRINNELL’S TIBATEMWA SET TO MAKE A SPLASH IN RIO BY EARNING SPOT ON UGANDAN OLYMPIC TEAM

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College swimmer Joshua Tibatemwa ’19 will be making a splash on the international scene next month.

It was officially confirmed over the weekend that Tibatemwa will be representing Uganda in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, next month.

He is the first Pioneer in the modern era to earn a spot in the Olympics while still a student at Grinnell.

Tibatemwa, who is coming off a stellar first-year collegiate campaign, will compete in the 50-meter freestyle on Aug. 11.
