Since its re-introduction in 2010, the OIBC has been fortunate, through a dedicated membership, to provide a substantial amount of funding to activities in the Oskaloosa School District. During our 2015 business year, groups benefited from over $38,000 with support of OIBC funds included Robotics, Softball, Student Council, Wrestling, Soccer, Shooting Team, Dance, Cheer, Basketball, Golf, Football, Swimming, Community Stadium, After Prom Event and Middle School activities.

In addition to providing funding for student activities, the OIBC also sponsored several community events, including the Annual OIBC Golf Outing, home football game Tailgate Club, OHS Homecoming Parade, Coupon Blitz Night, Membership Appreciation BBQ, SnoBiz Night at home baseball and softball games, merchandise sales at home sporting events, free gift wrap during the Christmas holiday season, and the “Softball Welcome Back Night” Reunion Event.

The 6th Annual OIBC Golf Outing is just around the corner, occurring on Saturday, August 6 at Oskaloosa Golf. The cost of the event is $300 per foursome team or $75 per individual. With Mahaska Communications Group serving as the title sponsor, ALL entry fees will go to the OIBC for disbursement to fulfill funding requests. For more information on the outing, contact Doug DeKock at Oskaloosa Golf at 641-673-4653 or Wendy Van Roekel at 641-660-1802.

The OIBC’s commitment to Indian activities also took another step forward this summer as it partnered with the William Penn University Strength and Conditioning Program to provide top-notch training for Oskaloosa high school student-athletes. The initial turnout and results have been incredible!

OIBC Membership is open to all community members, including families, individuals, and businesses. Paid membership at ALL membership levels includes voting privileges and a listing in each home event program. In addition to those membership benefits, members will also receive tokens of recognition at each of the various membership levels.

To join the OIBC or simply renew a membership, contact Wendy Van Roekel at 641-660-1802 or Kathy Butler at 641-660-3035.
