Glendajayne Latcham, 73, of Hedrick, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 1, 2016. She was born February 15, 1943, in the Quad Cities, the daughter of Rex and Patricia Ann Middlekauff Reinier.

Glenda was part of the last class to graduate from Ollie High School in 1961. Following graduation she worked as a telephone operator.

Glenda was united in marriage to Robert Hutton at the Ollie United Methodist Church. To this union a son Timothy was born. Following their marriage, Robert was in the military and was stationed in Arizona. After his discharge from the military they moved to Oskaloosa. Shortly after they moved back to Iowa, Robert was killed in an accident. After his death Glenda moved to Fairfield.

On March 29, 1969, Glenda was united in marriage to Jim Latcham at the Ollie United Methodist Church in Ollie. After marrying Jim, she stayed home to care for her children and home. She also babysat children in her home for many years.

Glenda was a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed arranging flowers, baking, reading, and rocking babies. She delighted in being with her family, she looked forward to attending any activity where her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were participating. Though many of her days were plagued with aches and pains from health complications, she was always on the go and eager to give of her time and talents to her family and community. She looked forward to camping with her “fair family” every year at the Iowa State Fair.

Her family includes her husband Jim Latcham of Hedrick; three children and their spouses: Theresa (& Marty) Nikkel of Pella, Angela (& Jared) Lyle of Hedrick, and Tony (& Joy) Latcham of Hedrick; a daughter in law, (Tim’s widow) Sue (& Mike) Ewigman of Marceline, Missouri; 21 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters: Nancy (& Bob) Winn of Ollie, and Patty Sue Barnes of Ottumwa; two brothers: Kevin Reinier of Ollie and Norman (& Grace) Reinier of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her first husband, Glenda was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Hutton; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in the Northgate Alliance Church in Ottumwa with Reverend Jim Eschenbrenner officiating.
Burial will be in the Brooks Cemetery near Hedrick. The Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Tuesday after 12 noon in the Northgate Alliance Church in Ottumwa and the family will be at the church from 5-8 Tuesday evening to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be designated at a later date.
