An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a piece of safety equipment the Mahaska County Sheriff Reserve Posse (MCSRP) has long desired to acquire yet, the cost of a new AED was beyond their reach, until now.

On March 15, 2016, Pella Regional Health Center (PRHC) donated a no longer needed AED to the Mahaska County Sheriff Reserve Posse. With this new addition to the MCSRP, they will now have the same capabilities that all the other deputies have as they carry an AED in their patrol vehicles. Periodically, the hospital has equipment they no longer need and have made a conscientious decision to help community agencies where there is a need that they can fill.
