GRINNELL’S FISHER, MACK NAMED TO ABCA/RAWLINGS ALL-REGION SQUAD

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Graham Fisher ’16 was a first-team selection to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Central Region Team, while Pioneer Anthony Mack ’16 earned a spot on the third unit.

The duo guided the Pioneers to a record-breaking season in which they claimed the Midwest Conference South Division title for the sixth time in the last seven years and won a program-best 30 games.

Fisher, a 6-4 pitcher/designated hitter/first baseman from Palo Alto, Calif. (Gunn), was named to the All-Region Team at a utility spot. He also earned All-Region honors from D3baseball.com and was the MWC South Division Pitcher of the Year.

Fisher, a three-time All-MWC choice, led the league in ERA (1.47), was second in wins (seven), fourth in opposing batting average (.223) and sixth in strikeouts (59).

Offensively, Fisher led the league in home runs (10), was second in slugging percentage (.787), third in RBIs (41) and total bases (96) and fourth in batting average (.426) and on-base percentage (.510).

Mack, a 6-3 outfielder from Libertyville, Ill. (Libertyville), is an ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selection for the third year in a row and has also been on the D3baseball.com All-Region squad. Additionally, he also was a three-time All-MWC selection and in 2014 was the South’s Player of the Year.

Mack ranked first in the MWC in triples (three), fifth in RBIs (39) and 10th in slugging percentage (.568). He hit .338 on the season with five homers and 11 doubles while scoring 32 runs.

The Central Region Position Player of the Year was Deion Hughes of Westminster, while Jack Bensinger of Webster earned Pitcher of the Year honors.
