Susan Harden Dooley, 58, of Oskaloosa died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born December 13, 1957, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Lowell Harold and Edith Martha Smith Myers.

Susan attended school in Oskaloosa.

Early on Susan worked as a C.N.A. at care facilities in Oskaloosa. She also worked as a security guard at Cargill in Eddyville. She retired in 1993 as her health was declining.

In 1998, she was united in marriage to her longtime companion William Baker, he died on August 10, 1999. On November 8, 2014, Susan was united in marriage to Eddy Dooley in Oskaloosa.

Susan delighted in spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and singing.

Her family includes her husband Eddy Dooley of Oskaloosa; five children: Jennifer (& Rick) Gray of Carlisle, Renee (& Donnie) Allison of Oskaloosa, Jason (& Liz) Haring of Fremont, Crystal (& Bryon) Inman of Oskaloosa, and James Haring of Oskaloosa; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; three step children: Nathaniel (& Cheryl) Dooley of Missouri, Jennifer White of Marshalltown, and Scott (& Shirley) Akers of Oskaloosa; eight step grandchildren; three sisters: Jimella Hoff of Mississippi, Edith “Squeaky” Martin of Mississippi, and Melinda (& Lyle) Williams of Oskaloosa; three brothers: Roger Myers of Mississippi, Dean Myers of Kansas, and John (& Nancy) Myers of Creston; and many nieces and nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Baker; a brother, Oscar Myers; a granddaughter, Casey Haring; a niece, Melissa Williams; a step son, Randy Dooley; and a step grandson, Nicholas Dooley.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating.
Burial will be in the Indianapolis Cemetery near What Cheer. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation with the family will be held Friday from 1 until service time at 2:30 Friday afternoon.
Memorials may be made to the family.
