Mary Crumly, 95, of Oskaloosa died May 25, 2016, at Northern Mahaska Specialty Care in Oskaloosa. She was born Saturday, February 5, 1921, in Letts, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Pearl Pentel Werner.

Following school, Mary was united in marriage to Lloyd Crumly on April 30, 1938 in Kahoka, Missouri. She devoted her life to raising and caring for her family.

Mary enjoyed crafts, needlework and sewing. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Letts Federated Club, Hemphill Church and Women’s Society.

Her family includes a daughter, Carol Ann Tyrell of Sacramento, California; two sons: William Arthur (& Rita) Crumly of San Diego, California and John Crumly of Oskaloosa; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Werner of Morning Sun, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lloyd; a son, Richard Crumly; a daughter-in-law, Marie Crumly; 4 brothers: David, Robert, John and one in infancy; and a half-brother, Charles Pentel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 28,2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Bruce Wittern officiating.
Burial will be in Lettsville Cemetery in Letts, Iowa on Saturday at 3:30 P.M. following the service.
Visitation will be held Saturday, at Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa and the family will be at the funeral home from 11:00 until service time to greet friends and relatives.
