1:00 – 4:00 pm each day

Pick and choose outdoor activities that you would like to experience and learn about – it’s all free! Kids and adults can have fun fishing, hiking, shooting archery, bowfishing and cooking over a campfire. Just register for the activities you want to do, then come for the fun! Call MCCB at (641)673-9327 to sign up.

Monday, June 6

TAKE ME FISHING (1-4 pm)
Go fishing in the Russell Wildlife Ponds. Fishing poles can be provided. Great fun for all skill levels! Ages 16 and older will need a fishing license.

Tuesday, June 7

OUTDOOR SURVIVAL SKILLS (1-4 pm)
We will hike around the Russell Wildlife Area and try out some basic, yet helpful survival skills for the outdoors.

Wednesday, June 8

ON TARGET WITH ARCHERY & BOWFISHING (1-4 pm)
After receiving shooting instructions, test your skills in shooting an archery bow and a bowfishing bow. You are guaranteed to get hooked on one of these sports!

Thursday, June 9

EXPLORE THE OUTDOORS (1-4 pm)
We will hike and explore the Russell Wildlife Area off trail on this afternoon. Oh, can’t forget to mention fossil digging and bird watching!

Friday, June 10

OUTDOOR COOKING (1-4 pm)
Bring your appetite and try out some of MCCB’s favorite and easy outdoor cooking recipes. You can help us cook up some good grub!

We will meet at the conservation center in the Russell Wildlife Area. This is located at 2254 – 200th Street, New Sharon, Iowa which is four miles north of Oskaloosa on Hwy. 63 and one mile east on 200th Street.
